Okay Temiz Oriental Wind at the Dome

Okay is back in town for the first time in many years. Okay was one of the musicians taking part of the original Dome in 1971. He stayed for a long time in Sweden playing with Don Cherry, Sevda and Oriental Wind. He is regarded as one of the leading percussionist in the world, now with his base in his native Istanbul. For the Dome he put together his Oriental Wind band with Bobo Stensson, Lennart Åberg, Christian Spering and son Tom Temiz.
Okay Temiz Oriental Wind plays today at the Dome July 28, 7 pm. In the concert we can expect Turkish folk music as well as jazz by Ornette Coleman and Don Cherry. You will get to hear Okay's interesting work with Quica, Berimbau, congas and other stuff besides the regular drum set. The group members are of course great soloists in their own right so expect a wonderful evening.
